cruise line pick up

If your cruise ship is docking in Ensenada and you’re trying to figure out the best way to spend your port day, you’re in the right place. ATV tours are consistently the most popular shore excursion in Ensenada — and for good reason. In a few hours you can ride through mountain trails, reach natural hot springs, see La Bufadora, or explore the city in a way no bus tour ever could. Here’s everything you need to know before you book.

How Far Is the Meeting Point from the Cruise Terminal?

This is the first question every cruise passenger asks and the answer is simple — about a 5-minute walk along the waterfront. We meet all cruise guests at the plaza in front of Museum Caracol, directly on the Ensenada waterfront. You don’t need a taxi, a transfer, or a shuttle. Walk off the ship, turn right along the bay, and look for the ATV Ensenada Tours sign with your name on it. Our guides will be there waiting.

Address if you’re using Google Maps: Museo de Ciencias de Ensenada (El Caracol), Ensenada, Baja California — it’s the building with the large snail shell on the outside, right on the water.

Will I Make It Back to the Ship on Time?

Yes — guaranteed. Every tour we run for cruise passengers is scheduled around your ship’s departure time. When you book, tell us your all-aboard time and we build the tour around it. We have been running shore excursions for cruise passengers since 2014 and in all that time we have never missed a ship departure.

If anything changes on your end — you’re running late, your ship changes schedule — WhatsApp us immediately at +52 646 151 9429 and we will adjust.

Which ATV Tour Is Best for Cruise Visitors?

The answer depends on how much time you have and what kind of experience you want. Here’s a breakdown of the most popular options:

ATV Mountain Tour — from $95 per person The best option if you have 2 to 3 hours at the port. You’ll ride through Ensenada’s backcountry mountain trails with ocean views, stop at a scenic overlook, and be back at the ship with time to spare. Perfect for first-time ATV riders and families. This is our most beginner-friendly tour.

ATV Hot Water Springs Tour — from $140 per person The most popular cruise shore excursion we offer. A 4 to 5 hour adventure that takes you through rugged desert terrain, river crossings, and mountain trails to natural hot water springs with healing minerals. You’ll need at least 5 hours at port for this one. Plan your all-aboard time accordingly.

ATV Blowhole Tour — La Bufadora — from $125 per person Ride your ATV to La Bufadora — one of the largest marine geysers in North America and Ensenada’s most famous natural attraction. A 4-hour tour with spectacular coastal scenery along the way. One of the most memorable shore excursions you can do in Ensenada.

ATV Beer and Tacos Tour — from $135 per person For the cruise passengers who want a taste of local Ensenada culture. ATV ride through the city and mountain trails, a stop at the Tequila Museum for tastings, bar hopping at Papas & Beer, and authentic carne asada tacos. Adults only, 4 hours.

ATV City Tour — from $75 per person Short on time? The City Tour is 90 minutes and covers Ensenada’s key landmarks, beaches, and viewpoints. The most affordable and time-efficient option for cruise passengers with a tight schedule.

ATV Zipline Combo — from $170 per person Ride ATVs to Las Cañadas zipline park and soar over Ensenada’s canyons on a high-speed zipline. 4 hours and one of the most action-packed shore excursions available in the city.

ATV Horseback Ride Combo — from $145 per person Two activities in one — horseback riding on the beach and ATV riding through Baja trails. 4 hours, great for families and couples.

ATV Wine Tour — from $125 per person Ride through Ensenada’s wine country to El Tule vineyard, established in 1913. A relaxed and scenic option for couples and wine lovers who want something different from the typical shore excursion.

Tips for Cruise Passengers Booking an ATV Tour in Ensenada

Book before your cruise departs. The most popular tours — especially Hot Water Springs and Beer and Tacos — fill up fast on heavy port days. Booking 5 to 7 days in advance is strongly recommended during peak season (October to April).

Know your all-aboard time. Every cruise line sets an all-aboard time that is typically 30 to 60 minutes before actual departure. Plan your tour to end at least 30 minutes before that time. When in doubt, choose a shorter tour.

Tell us your departure window when booking. When you reserve online or via WhatsApp, include your ship’s name and all-aboard time. We build every shore excursion schedule around it.

Wear clothes you can get dusty. Baja trails are dirt and dust. Wear closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothes, and bring sunscreen and sunglasses. Leave anything you don’t want to get dirty on the ship.

Bring some cash. US dollars are widely accepted in Ensenada. Bring cash for tips, any optional stops, and tacos.

Download WhatsApp before you dock. It’s the fastest way to reach us if anything changes on your end. Our number is +52 646 151 9429.
